If you’ve ever come across the term FIRE—Financial Independence, Retire Early—you might picture spreadsheets, savings plans, and an ambitious pursuit of freedom. But for me, FIRE is about much more than reaching the finish line. It’s about the journey and how we live each day along the way.

That’s where the “Ball” in FireBall comes in. It’s a reminder that life is about balance—balancing ambition with joy, planning with spontaneity, and financial goals with the things that make life rich and meaningful. It’s also a little playful nod to the idea that this journey should be fun.

I’m not an expert or a guru. I’m just someone trying to figure this out, one step at a time. Along the way, I’ve made plenty of mistakes (and I’m sure there are more to come), but I’ve also learned a lot. This blog is where I’ll share those learnings—what’s worked, what hasn’t, and how I’m trying to build a life that feels both free and full.

I’ve spent over 20 years working as an engineer and mid-level manager for a major corporation. I still love my job and am excited about the work I do every day. But I’m also at the threshold of looking beyond my career, thinking about what the future holds, and exploring what else I could be doing to add value to the broader world. FIRE and a balanced life are the precursors to making that vision a reality.

Through FireBall, I hope to spark conversations about how we can achieve financial independence without sacrificing the things that truly matter: health, relationships, purpose, and joy.

From practical financial strategies and personal reflections to stories of balance, growth, and living life fully, FireBall is about taking steps forward together. I’m excited to dive into questions like: How do we align our goals with our values? How can we live today while planning for tomorrow? And how can we turn our aspirations into actions?
